How does a teacher manage to follow a student’s evolution and focus on his specific academic needs? How can a teacher assist each individual student and at the same time work with the class as a whole? What assets and unique devices do learning analytics offer teachers that help them to personalise a student’s learning experience?
How do learning analytics work?
We interviewed one of our 2014 alumni, Klass Data, for this post and their CEO, Tomás Martínez Buero, kindly gave us an overview of common Key Performance Indicators (KPI) that you can find in the infographic below. Klass Data is a fast-growing start-up in the successful field of learning analytics in the classroom, enabling institutions, teachers and students to track data and use it to improve their skills and knowledge. Data privacy is guaranteed by encrypted student identification. The dashboards deliver metrics aligned with best educational practices, supply useful insights into which students are at risk of lagging behind, as well as offering assessment on which content is better for the whole class and for each individual student according to that student’s profile. Here are a few hints of how it works, but you can experience it in your model on your own with the beta version offered by Klass Data.
