Only eighteen teams got to attend the Finalists' Workshop, but we are now opening up the experience to all thanks to our talented audiovisual team and everyone who documented the event on social media (#OECfinal). This blog post gives you an overview of the event via video, photo, and tweet.
This video gives you an overview of the workshop and a window into the sessions. It also includes clips from the finalists' pitches, so you can meet the finalists and hear in their own words what their project is about. The pitches start at 9:20.
Day 1 of the Workshop
On July 13, the finalists arrived in Barcelona and we kicked off the workshop with a creative session called "Visualise your Path" with Hanoch Piven.
The sessions got more serious on July 14, where teams split up and each member participated in one of the two workshops offered in the morning: Learning Design with Yishay Mor and Teemu Leinonen, and Business Innovation with Pierre-Antoine Ullmo and François Marmion. In the afternoon, the teams reunited to share what they learned and continue preparing and practicing their pitch.
The workshop culminated in the pitch competition on July 15, when all of the teams went one by one before the OEC Jury to present their project. The process took all morning and most of the afternoon. After the Jury had made their deliberations, Lord David Puttnam announced the winners and brought the Finalists' Workshop to a close.
