Do you wish to meet the Open Education Challenge winning teams? Then the ‘Education in the Digital Era Conference’ is the place to be. Each of the startups from the first edition of the European Incubator for Innovation in Education will attend the conference, where they will available to answer your questions and provide a demo of their products. Also, our Jury Chair Lord David Puttnam will hand over diplomas to the OEC teams alumni.

Learning with Atta is fun; students cooperate, win rewards, and solve challenges so that they can improve academic results & reduce school dropout."

Domoscio (France)

"We propose innovations in how people study and revise to acquire knowledge. Our solution allows you to learn faster and remember longer. By analyzing the responses and progress of each user, our adaptive algorithm organizes, optimizes and saves time in revisions."

Funbrush (Poland)

"We've already developed an early stage prototype of a interactive toothbrush. It's is going to be a device that acts like virtual mirror to: teach children the correct way of brushing, change this routine into fun and healthy game and show brushing as something good and positive to prevent tooth decay."

GroupMOOC (UK)

"It's a MOOC aggregator app which builds a course plan with workload and key event information and allows the creation of study groups. For organisations it's a Learning Management System (LMS) where course libraries can be defined from MOOCs and internal courses for CPD, recruitment and sales purposes."

Harness (India)

"An operating system for learning, where classrooms with student devices are transformed from lecturing to learning, through collaboration, blended teaching & analytics-driven assessments. Built on HTML5 & cloud-ready, Learning 2.0 delivers paperless, personalised, borderless & engaging education."

KLASS Data (Spain)

"KLASS Data uses Artificial Intelligence to analyze real-time performance data from multiple educative sources (e-learning platforms, apps, video repositories, etc.) to improve the learning and teaching experience: big data analytics to reshape education."

Think With Things (Belgium)

"Think with Things is a collaborative tool for educators and parents. It translates a proven educational method into a digital library of everyday objects and provocations. The tool promotes 'things you have on hand' as learning tools and links them with age-appropriate, subject-based activities."

The Open Education Challenge is a pan-European initiative launched by P.A.U. Education and ARMAT Group in partnership with the European Commission, under the patronage of EU-commissioner Androulla Vassiliou Vassiliou and as part of Startup Europe. This edition an opportunity for cutting-edge education startups to receive mentoring and seed funding through the European Incubator for Innovation in Education, and get direct access to investors from day one.

From over 600 applications received in March 2014, eighteen teams made it to Barcelona for the Finalists’ Workshop in July 2014, where they pitched their projects to a European Jury chaired by Lord David Puttnam and with the participation of Xavier Prats MonnĂ©, Deputy Director-General for Education and Culture at the European Commission.

The winners of the Open Education Challenge got to participate in the first ever European Incubator for Innovation in Education from September until November 2014. The incubation programme has been offered in a blended format, with 12 weeks of online coaching and mentoring punctuated by 4 residential sessions in Helsinki, Paris, London, and Berlin.
