Organised by the Université Catholique de Louvain and P.A.U. Education, EMOOCs 2015 provides a prime opportunity to gather European actors involved in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), from policy makers to practitioners to researchers. The conference will be held on 18-20 May 2015 in Mons, Belgium, European Capital of Culture for 2015.

EMOOCs 2015 will include four tracks: Institutions, Experience, Research, and Worldwide. Six sessions will be held in the course of the three days, complemented by a keynote session every day.
The first Keynote Session following the inauguration on Monday 18 May, will be led by Dave Courmier (University of Prince Edward Island, Canada), on the subject Rhizomatic Learning - potentially Massive, radically Open but still an Online Course. In the second session, Sian Bayne, Professor of Digital Education (The University of Edinburgh, UK) will share her expertise in Teacherbot: automated teaching on a MOOC. The third session will focus on the topic How can MOOCs contribute to the further development of the European Higher Education Area?
The call for research papers provided us with many enlightening contributions that will be used and divided into various broader themes during the Research Track and the Experience Track, and will feature the participation of the authors.
One of the key sessions in the Research Track will cover Demographic Information and Data Protection, a major subject in the industry, and will feature the following papers: What do we know about typical MOOC participants? First insights from the field, A Tale of Two MOOCs: Analyzing Long-Term Course Dynamics, Can demographic information predict MOOC learner outcomes?, and Are there restrictions on the roll-out of MOOCs in EU universities on the basis of applicable Data Protection law?
In the Experience Track, a session to be held on the second day will present examples and insights on the transformation from classic university to MOOC university courses, through various papers by renowned authors: Experiences from 18 DelftX MOOCs, Integrating MOOCs in Traditional Higher Education, and Three-Step Transformation of a Traditional University Course into a MOOC: a LouvainX Experience.

In addition to the general programme, companies are invited to join a design thinking workshop on corporate MOOCs, which provide an excellent opportunity to improve your employees’ learning experiences.
